Embracing Movement Beyond Perfection

Embracing Movement Beyond the Scale

Heather Nagel, founder of Roaring Legend Fitness, is a fitness coach on a mission to redefine what fitness means for women especially those who are navigating the postpartum, loss, and grief spaces.

Her story is deeply personal, shaped by her own struggles and triumphs.

Despite receiving praise for her weight loss during one of the hardest times in her life, Heather’s mission is to show that fitness isn’t just about appearances.

It’s about finding a relationship with movement that works for you, no matter where you are in your journey.

Imposter Syndrome and ADHD

Heather’s path to becoming a fitness coach hasn’t been smooth.

It’s taken her longer than expected to get certified, largely due to the struggles of imposter syndrome and ADHD.

She’s candid about the challenges that have held her back, including her internal belief that she doesn’t “look the part” of a typical fitness trainer.

“I preach that appearance doesn’t matter in the fitness space, but I find myself letting it hold me back,” she admits.

“I know my niche is important, but sometimes I doubt myself.”

Yet, despite the hurdles, Heather is determined to break through.

“It’s not about being super skinny or perfectly fit,” she says.

“It’s about showing women that fitness is for them—no matter what shape or size they are, no matter what phase of life they’re in.”

Fitness for Every Woman

What sets Heather apart is her unwavering belief that fitness is for everyone.

For far too long, many women have felt that fitness is reserved only for elite athletes or those on a quest for weight loss.

“I see too many women think that fitness is only about losing weight or looking a certain way,” Heather reflects.

“That’s why I’m so passionate about changing the conversation.”

In her community, Heather is known for helping people start moving again.

“I’ve had so many people tell me that I’m the reason they started moving, the reason they reconnected with fitness,” she says.

“And that’s why I do this work. I want women to know that fitness isn’t about the scale. It’s about feeling good in your own body and finding joy in movement.”

Navigating ADHD and Perimenopause

Heather’s journey hasn’t just been about overcoming self-doubt.

She’s also been battling ADHD and the effects of perimenopause, which have made it even harder to stay focused and energized.

“ADHD is a struggle, and with perimenopause, my symptoms have increased,” she shares.

“It can be a stumbling block. But I’m learning how to manage it and continue moving forward.

Heather’s openness about her challenges helps her connect with the women she serves, many of whom are also juggling their own battles with mental health, hormonal shifts, and the pressures of everyday life.

Getting Out of Her Own Way

As much as Heather knows she has a valuable message, she admits that getting her certification has been a major roadblock.

“I know I have the passion, the drive, and the skills,” she says.

“But it’s been tough to push through the self-doubt and get that certification under my belt. It’s like I’m holding myself back.”

Despite her struggles with ADHD and perfectionism, Heather is determined to build the life she envisions: a life where she can help women feel good in their own bodies, without the pressure of fitting a narrow fitness ideal.

“I want to help women find a healthy, sustainable relationship with movement,” Heather says, “One that works for them and doesn’t require them to fit into a box of what fitness ‘should’ look like.”

The Future of Fitness, Empowerment and Accessibility

Heather’s story is one of transformation.

From navigating personal struggles to creating a fitness space that’s accessible and empowering, she’s a coach who believes in making fitness approachable for all women.

Roaring Legend Fitness is just the beginning of a journey that will help countless women redefine what fitness means in their lives.

Heather’s message is clear: Fitness isn’t about weight loss, appearance, or perfection.

It’s about finding the movement that empowers you, in whatever stage of life you’re in.

At Reignelle, we believe that everyone deserves to move freely and confidently.

Heather’s work serves as a reminder that fitness should never be confined to one standard, it’s for every woman, every body, every stage of life.
