Kim Hess’s story begins with a tragic moment that could have defined her future, but instead, it became the catalyst for her lifelong dedication to health and well-being.

In 1991, at just 28 years old, Kim survived a horrific car accident in northern Idaho.

The crash, which involved rolling down a 485-foot cliff on Christmas Day, left Kim with a broken neck and deep vein thrombosis.

The doctors told her she would never walk properly again, that she would always need a cane and support stockings.

But Kim wasn’t ready to accept that fate.

With grit and determination, she researched her condition and proved the doctors wrong, reclaiming her health.

This marked the beginning of Kim’s journey into self-advocacy—a path that would not only change her life but also inspire countless others.

Since then, she’s been fiercely committed to advocating for her own health and the health of her family, learning to listen to her body, trust her instincts, and take charge of her well-being.

A New Focus on Aging

In 2000, Kim began teaching yoga, and by 2018, she made a pivotal shift in her career.

Moving beyond traditional yoga asanas, she delved into the psychological aspects of yoga and holistic health practices, understanding that true wellness encompasses more than just physical movement.

By 2020, as Kim approached her 60th birthday, she had an “ah-ha” moment that solidified her new purpose: to guide women particularly those navigating menopause—towards healthier, more intentional living.

For Kim, it’s about addressing the whole person: gut health, nutrition, movement, and plant medicine.

This holistic approach forms the foundation for a healthy, happy life. Kim is now devoted to helping women aged 40 and above those experiencing peri-menopausal symptoms or dealing with post-menopausal changes—embrace aging with grace, intention, and wellness.

She combines her deep knowledge of yoga, holistic health coaching, and her personal experiences to offer practical tools and emotional support to those who need it most.

A Life Transformed Through Healing

Kim’s work is deeply personal.

Having endured mental and emotional abuse from her former partner, who dismissed her work and expected her to run his business, she understands the power of self-advocacy more than most.

The emotional toll of these years took its toll on Kim, but she emerged stronger, more focused, and more passionate about empowering others especially women.

Kim’s clients are often those who have been through similar struggles, especially women coming out of emotionally or mentally abusive relationships.

They may experience anxiety, depression, or a sense of losing themselves.

But with Kim’s guidance, they can heal. One such client, a private yoga student, chose sobriety, lost 30 pounds, and repaired his relationship with his family—an incredible testament to the transformative power of holistic health practices and yoga.

Building a Life of Freedom

At 64, Kim is redefining what it means to live fully and intentionally.

After years of navigating difficult relationships and raising children, Kim now cherishes her solitude while also seeking meaningful connections.

For the first time in years, she is living alone and she finds joy in it. But there is one thing Kim misses: daily human connection.

This year, Kim has intentionally focused on expanding her network—not only to grow her business but also to build new friendships and connections.

She’s learned that while solitude brings peace, it’s the connections we make along the way that add depth to life.

Her future plans include more travel, particularly in the colder months, with the freedom to go wherever life takes her.

A Holistic Path to Aging with Grace

Kim’s holistic approach to aging is a breath of fresh air in a world that often focuses on superficial solutions to growing older.

She emphasizes that aging doesn’t need to be feared, it can be embraced with intention, proper self-care, and the support of a community.

By teaching women about the interconnectedness of gut health, nutrition, movement, and emotional well-being, Kim has created a roadmap for thoughtful aging that honors the body, mind, and spirit.

Her current focus is on building online courses and designing wellness retreats to continue helping women around the world live their healthiest, happiest lives.

But with the right tools, guidance, and support, anyone can live a fulfilling, vibrant life at any age.
