Healing That Listens, Not Overrides

Listening Beneath the Symptoms

Demi is a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and the founder of Wellness by Demi, a practice devoted to supporting women with gut health, hormonal balance, and mindset especially those who have been left without answers by conventional healthcare systems.

Based in Perth, Western Australia, Demi works with women who feel unheard, dismissed, or stuck in cycles of symptoms that never fully resolve.

Many arrive after years of appointments and prescriptions that managed discomfort but never addressed why their bodies were struggling in the first place.

Demi works with clients long-term, intentionally moving beyond quick fixes.

She looks at the full picture: lifestyle habits, sleep, stress, relationships, trauma, nourishment, hydration, and the way women speak to and care for themselves.

Her philosophy is rooted in prevention rather than reaction.

She believes true health is built before the body reaches exhaustion, through daily choices and a more respectful relationship with nature, even within the constraints of modern life.

At the heart of her work is a simple belief: symptoms are not failures. They are signals asking to be understood.

The Call Toward a Different Way

Demi’s journey into holistic health began with her own mental health struggles.

As she searched for healing, she became increasingly aware of a larger pattern around her people living with chronic conditions that weren’t life-threatening, but were life-limiting.

Their care often centered on medication that muted symptoms without addressing root causes.

She couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing.

What she saw instead was the possibility of another way to live, one that didn’t normalize ongoing illness or disconnect people from their bodies’ wisdom.

Her work grew from a deep passion to show women that health doesn’t have to mean constant management.

That life can feel simpler, more fulfilling, and less defined by chronic disease when the body is supported rather than overridden.

When Self-Doubt Loosened Its Grip

Demi launched Wellness by Demi in 2024.

For the first year and a half, she carried a quiet but persistent companion: imposter syndrome.

She showed up, did the work, and supported clients, all while questioning whether she was truly ready or qualified to lead.

The shift came when she began to trust herself.

As the self-doubt softened, Demi found herself able to serve from a place of authenticity rather than performance.

She could be honest and direct saying what needed to be said while leading with empathy, care, and humility.

Her work became both real and grounded.

Truthful without authority.

Direct without arrogance.

Compassionate without losing clarity.

That balance now defines her approach.

Motherhood Changed the Rhythm

Nine months after starting her business, Demi became a first-time mother.

The transition altered her life completely.

She was still navigating imposter syndrome when she stepped into one of the most transformative roles a woman can experience.

Motherhood asked for her presence in ways no business ever had.

Demi made a clear decision: she wanted to be a present mother.

She chose to raise her child herself without daycare and without returning to full-time work.

Now pregnant with her second child, she continues to navigate the reality of running a business while being a full-time mother to two young children.

There is no formula.

What sustains her is passion and the belief that when something matters deeply enough, a way forward will always emerge.

Learning to Put Herself First

One of Demi’s ongoing challenges is learning to prioritize herself as a mother.

It is instinctive to serve family before self, to give first and rest later.

Yet she understands the deeper truth beneath that instinct: when a mother is depleted, everyone feels it.

Choosing herself is not selfish.

It is the foundation that allows her to show up fully for her children, her clients, and her work.

This season is about practicing that truth in real time.

Creating space for rest. Honoring her own needs.

Trusting that her capacity expands when she is supported, not sacrificed.

It is the same lesson she offers the women she serves: health is not found in depletion, and care does not require disappearance.

At Reignelle, we continue to center stories like Demi’s stories of women listening more closely to their bodies, redefining health on their own terms, and building lives that honor both purpose and presence.

Because healing begins when we stop overriding ourselves and start paying attention.
