What Happens When You Stop Pushing?

From Survival Mode to Self-Connection

Brianna Norden is a women’s holistic health coach and the voice behind Brianna Norden Coaching.

Her work is grounded in a simple but often overlooked truth:

You don’t need to do more to feel better.

You need to feel safe enough to slow down.

Because for many women, life doesn’t feel calm or connected.

It feels overwhelming.

Like you’re constantly juggling everything for everyone else.

Running on empty.

Stuck in your head.

Disconnected from your body.

And somewhere along the way… disconnected from yourself.

Brianna’s work meets women in that space.

Not with more pressure.

But with a different approach.

One that looks at the full picture.

Mindset.

Nervous system.

Habits.

Environment.

The patterns that keep them stuck in survival mode.

Because when your body feels stressed and unsafe, no amount of discipline will create lasting change.

Through her coaching, she helps women slow down.

Reconnect.

Regulate.

And from that place, build sustainable habits around movement, nutrition and self-care.

Not ones that overwhelm their life.

But ones that actually fit into it.

Because the goal isn’t to become someone new.

It’s to come back to who you were before the world told you to be everything for everyone else.

The Moment Everything Didn’t Feel Right

Brianna didn’t start her business from ambition.

She started it from discomfort.

A quiet but persistent feeling that something wasn’t right.

For 12 years, she worked as a social worker.

A career she genuinely loved.

She cared deeply about people.

She was good at what she did.

And on paper, her life looked exactly how she had imagined.

A career.

A family.

Three children.

The life she thought she was working toward.

But behind that picture was a very different reality.

She felt lost.

Lost in her life.

Lost in motherhood.

Lost in herself.

Her mind never switched off.

Constant overthinking.

Second guessing.

The mental load that never seemed to ease.

She was doing everything she thought she “should” be doing.

Ticking all the boxes.

But still felt disconnected.

Unhappy in her body.

Like she was surviving her life instead of living it.

And that question stayed with her:

If I have everything I once wanted… why don’t I feel good?

The Breaking Point That Became a Turning Point

At first, she did what many people do.

She reached for quick fixes.

Caffeine.

Sugar.

Scrolling.

Even binge eating at times.

Anything to escape how she was feeling.

But nothing actually changed.

It just kept her stuck in the same cycle.

A constant hamster wheel.

Until eventually, she hit burnout.

And that became the turning point.

Because she realised something important:

The answer wasn’t doing more.

It wasn’t another routine.

Another plan.

Another thing to add to her already full plate.

What she actually needed was the opposite.

To slow down.

To reconnect.

To look at the full picture.

Her mindset.

Her nervous system.

Her habits.

Her environment.

And as she began doing that work, things started to shift.

Not instantly.

But in a way that felt real.

Sustainable.

She felt calmer.

More in control.

More connected to herself and her life.

And in that process, she realised something else.

She wasn’t the only one feeling this way.

So many women were living in that same cycle.

Overwhelmed.

Burnt out.

Disconnected.

Believing they were the problem.

They weren’t.

They just needed a different kind of support.

And that’s why she built what she has today.

When People Change Tables

Building her business came with lessons she didn’t expect.

Not about strategy.

But about people.

When she started, she took a leap.

Backing herself fully.

Even when it looked uncertain from the outside.

And she chose to build her business through honesty.

Sharing the real version of her life.

The struggles in motherhood.

The challenges in her marriage.

The mental load.

The burnout.

Not the polished version.

The truth.

Her intention was simple.

To help other women feel seen.

Less alone.

To remove the shame around not loving every moment.

But honesty can make people uncomfortable.

And when people feel uncomfortable, they often create distance.

She felt that shift.

Friendships changed.

Some people went quiet.

Some of the support she expected… wasn’t there.

And at the beginning, that was hard.

She questioned herself.

Wondered if she was oversharing.

If she was doing the wrong thing.

But over time, she understood something that changed everything:

People hadn’t disappeared.

They had just changed tables.

And she had to be okay with that.

Because as she continued to build her business, she was also building something deeper.

Self-trust.

A grounded kind of confidence.

Clarity around who she is.

What she stands for.

Where her energy belongs.

She stopped needing everyone to understand.

Or agree.

She backed herself.

And in that process, new connections formed.

Women who aligned.

Who valued her voice.

Who were walking a similar path.

Sometimes the people you expect to cheer you on stay silent.

And that doesn’t mean you stop.

It means you keep going anyway.

The Balance That Isn’t Always Balanced

Right now, Brianna’s biggest challenge isn’t passion.

It’s balance.

The balance between being present as a mum.

And building a business she deeply cares about.

She created this business for flexibility.

To be there for school drop-offs.

Pick-ups.

The moments that matter.

And yet, the reality isn’t always as clear as she imagined.

The lines blur.

There are days where she feels pulled in both directions.

Wanting to be fully present with her children.

While also holding the responsibility of her business.

Her clients.

Her vision.

And when you care deeply about both, that weight is real.

There are seasons in business.

Moments of intensity.

Moments of growth.

And she’s still learning how to navigate that.

Still questioning at times.

Am I doing enough?

Am I getting this right?

But what she continues to come back to is this:

This is a season.

Not forever.

And sometimes, balance doesn’t mean everything feels perfect.

It means being willing to recalibrate.

To come back to what matters.

To adjust where your energy goes.

And to let both things exist.

The aligned days.

And the messy ones.

Building Something Bigger Than Herself

One of the edges she’s currently navigating is growth.

Specifically, bringing someone into her business.

And with that comes uncertainty.

Who do you hire?

What do you hand over?

When is the right time?

Can you afford it?

It’s a different kind of stretch.

Moving from doing everything yourself.

To trusting someone else to hold part of what you’ve built.

But like every stage before it, it’s part of the evolution.

Because what she’s building isn’t just a business.

It’s a body of work that supports women in coming back to themselves.

Coming Back to You

At the heart of Brianna’s work is a powerful reminder:

There is nothing wrong with you.

You’re not broken.

You don’t need more pressure.

You need support.

Understanding.

The right tools.

Because when a woman moves out of survival mode, everything changes.

She feels calmer.

More connected.

More in control.

Not because she became someone new.

But because she returned to herself.

And maybe that’s the real work.

Not becoming more.

But remembering who you were before the world asked you to be everything for everyone else.

At Reignelle, we’re reminded that the most powerful shift isn’t becoming someone new but returning to who you’ve always been.
