Returning to What’s Real
Allison Briggs is a Licensed Professional Counselor.
A writer.
And a guide for women ready to reconnect with themselves.
Not the version shaped by expectation.
Or survival.
But the parts they’ve quietly set aside.
For years.
Holding Space for the Deeper Work
Allison’s work goes beyond traditional frameworks.
Beyond surface-level healing.
She supports women who have already tried—
The books.
The talk therapy.
The “positive thinking.”
And still feel something unresolved.
Because the real work…
Lives deeper.
In the nervous system.
In the body.
In the parts that never felt safe enough to be seen.
Healing Beneath the Story
Through modalities like Brainspotting.
EMDR.
Somatic work.
And parts work.
She helps clients access what’s underneath.
The protective patterns.
The frozen places.
The unspoken layers.
And the shifts that follow are subtle.
But powerful.
A softer response.
A clearer boundary.
A quiet knowing.
Of what they actually want.
A Space Without Judgment
Her sessions are real.
Unfiltered.
Human.
Where nothing has to be polished.
Or explained away.
Women can be messy.
Angry.
Jealous.
Or uncertain.
Without being labeled.
Or shamed.
And often.
That’s the first time they’ve ever been met that way.
Exactly as they are.
From Education to Emotional Healing
Allison didn’t begin here.
After 19 years in education.
She expected to continue working with children.
But private practice revealed something deeper.
That a child’s healing.
Was often tied to what adults were willing to face.
And many weren’t ready.
So her focus shifted.
To the women.
Who once were those children.
A Personal Awakening
At the same time.
Her own healing unfolded.
Recognizing patterns of codependency.
Traits she once saw as strengths.
Being helpful.
Attuned.
Holding everything together.
Were actually survival strategies.
And as she understood herself.
She began to see the same patterns.
In so many women around her.
Naming What Was Never the Problem
Women believing they were too much.
Too sensitive.
Too emotional.
Carrying exhaustion.
Anxiety.
And shame.
Not because something was wrong with them.
But because their nervous systems never felt safe.
That realization became the foundation of her work.
Building Something While Living Through It
Her path wasn’t easy.
Leaving a 19-year career.
Becoming a therapist in her 40s.
While raising children.
And navigating ongoing personal challenges.
There was no clear runway.
No safety net.
Just steady.
Intentional steps forward.
Becoming the Therapist She Needed
At the same time.
She was doing her own deep work.
Facing fear.
Unlearning patterns.
And building resilience.
While asking her clients to do the same.
And that lived experience.
Is what shapes her work today.
A Season of Expansion and Transition
Now, she’s entering a new chapter.
Relocating to Austin.
Rebuilding her in-person practice.
While continuing to support clients virtually.
And alongside that.
Writing her first book.
On Being Real: Healing the Codependent Heart of a Woman.
A project rooted in everything she’s lived.
And everything she teaches.
Holding Two Worlds at Once
This season asks a lot.
Building visibility.
Connection.
And community in a new place.
While also creating space for deep, focused writing.
Two paths.
Pulling in different directions.
Both essential.
Both meaningful.
Choosing a Life That Aligns
And perhaps most importantly.
She’s made a conscious choice.
To grow at a pace that honors her life.
As a mother.
Raising two sons.
Including one with autism.
Her time.
Her presence.
Her energy.
Are intentional.
Redefining What Success Looks Like
What others might call a limitation.
She sees as alignment.
Choosing presence over speed.
Depth over scale.
A life that feels congruent.
Instead of rushed.
Living the Work She Teaches
And through it all.
She’s learning from the people closest to her.
Especially her son.
Who embodies authenticity.
Without apology.
Without performance.
A daily reminder.
Of what it means to be fully yourself.
Guiding Others Back to Themselves
At the heart of Allison’s work.
Is truth.
Helping women return to who they are.
Without layers of conditioning.
Without the need to perform.
Because when you feel safe in your body…
Seen in your truth…
And connected to yourself…
You don’t just heal.
You come home.
At Reignelle, we believe that when you strip away who you were taught to be and return to what’s real, you create a life rooted in authenticity, clarity and deep self-trust.
