Laura Hoeksma’s path to Kundalini yoga began with stress and overwhelm, not certainty.
She came through stress.
Overwhelm.
And a quiet sense of disconnection.
Based in Windsor, Berkshire, she is a Kundalini Yoga Teacher who empowers women with practical, embodied tools rooted in breathwork and movement.
Her work helps women clarify their priorities and meet everyday life with greater calm, resilience, and confidence not by escaping stress but by learning how to meet it from within.
When Coping No Longer Works
Earlier in her adult life, she worked in corporate events.
Fast-paced.
Demanding.
Externally successful.
On the inside, she relied on avoidance strategies to manage pressure while searching for self-worth in achievements, relationships, and distractions.
Although she was always drawn to healing practices like yoga, self-doubt and the need for financial security kept her from believing she could become a teacher.
Over time, she realised something important.
Hustle didn’t equal success.
Choosing a Life in Flow
Meeting her husband marked a turning point.
Together, they left London for Berkshire.
Friday nights at the pub were replaced with yoga classes.
And her life softened.
Living with intention and a deeper spiritual focus, brought an immediate shift in her physical, emotional, and spiritual health.
Calm replaced urgency.
Presence replaced pressure.
Alignment replaced striving.
Thriving in the Midst of Adversity
Then came 2020.
Parenting a two-year-old.
Facing a health scare with their six-month-old daughter.
And the beginning of a global pandemic.
Her daily Kundalini practice shifted from supportive to essential.
Through breathwork and movement, she found she wasn’t just surviving crisis, she was thriving within it.
That experience awakened a desire to help other women meet their own challenges with the same steadiness and inner strength.
Building with Integrity and Intention
Sharing this work hasn’t always been easy.
Visibility.
Selling.
Being seen.
Especially when parts of her story felt deeply personal.
Over time, she learned that her work isn’t meant for everyone and that the people she’s here to serve are often outside her immediate circle.
Today, she builds her business slowly and sustainably, honouring her energy, choosing authenticity over trends, and trusting that the right women will find her.
