From Personal Struggles to a Calling
Lisa’s path to becoming a mental health coach was not linear.
It began with her own entrepreneurial journey nearly 17 years ago, launching a home-based sewing business.
What started as a hobby quickly evolved into a part-time venture.
However, it wasn’t until her marriage started falling apart that Lisa had a moment of clarity—she had to decide whether to find a traditional job or pursue a path that offered independence and flexibility.
Lisa chose the latter.
She decided that being self-employed, with the freedom to set her own schedule, was worth the sacrifices.
Sewing, Uber driving, and other side gigs became her foundation, but the path to her mental health coaching practice was still ahead of her.
It wasn’t long before Lisa realized that she could combine her natural inclination to support others with her entrepreneurial spirit.
She launched her mental health coaching business, specifically catering to those in the LGBTQ+ community and their allies.
Guiding Clients Through Their Struggles
What makes Lisa’s approach so effective is her compassionate listening and a belief that clients have the tools they need to heal.
“I don’t try to fix them,” she shares. “I just help guide them to the right tools.”
This philosophy has served her well as she navigates the complexities of mental health coaching.
One of Lisa’s most impactful success stories is of a client who struggled with chronic procrastination.
Over time, they identified the root cause: fear and avoidance.
After months of coaching, the client finally took action to see a doctor, which ultimately led to an early cancer diagnosis.
“She believes I saved her life,” Lisa reflects. “Without coaching, she would have continued to put off those medical checkups.”
Balancing Life and Building a Business
Like many entrepreneurs, Lisa faces her own set of challenges.
Time management is one of the biggest hurdles she encounters—balancing her coaching practice with school, side jobs, and the responsibilities of being a single mother.
“I don’t have a partner’s support, and it’s been hard to juggle it all,” Lisa admits.
“But I keep pushing because I believe in the work I do.”
Even though it’s difficult, Lisa practices self-care by honoring a weekly Sabbath.
Every Saturday, she takes 24 hours for rest and relationships, ensuring that she can recharge and avoid burnout.
A Vision for Growth
Lisa is in the midst of a major personal and professional transition.
While her coaching business is steadily growing, her biggest challenge is expanding her client base.
She’s currently working on marketing strategies to share her story and attract more people who can benefit from her guidance.
Additionally, Lisa is still in school, working towards a future license that will expand her capabilities as a mental health coach.
Her goal is clear: she wants to build a more sustainable business model that will allow her to make a full-time living doing what she loves, all while maintaining flexibility for her family life.
Lisa envisions herself seeing clients about 5-6 hours a day, with her license fully in hand in the next five years.
The Power of Sharing Her Story
One of Lisa’s greatest aspirations is to grow her audience and connect with more people in need of support.
“To share my story is important,” she says. “When people see someone else who’s gone through tough times, they realize they’re not alone.”
Whether it’s through social media, word of mouth, or eventually a podcast, Lisa aims to create a community of support where people feel understood and empowered to take control of their mental health.
Lisa Reynoso’s story is a reminder that mental health isn’t just about diagnosis and treatment, it’s about having someone who listens, someone who helps you find your own strength.
Through her coaching, Lisa offers a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies to explore their feelings and receive the support they need to move forward.
With determination and compassion, Lisa is creating a life and business that aligns with her values of freedom, independence, and connection.
At Reignelle, we believe in the power of shared stories, compassionate listening, and guiding individuals towards their own strength.
