Healing Through Devotion
Payal Nagdev didn’t choose yoga, yoga chose her.
After giving birth to her second child and struggling with health issues, she found herself in Haridwar under the modest, broken-roofed guidance of a then-unknown Baba Ramdev.
There, something shifted.
Yoga began healing her body in ways medicine couldn’t. What started as personal recovery turned into a calling.
From Recovery to Revolution
Back in Delhi, Payal opened her first yoga studio, determined to share what had changed her life.
She faced skepticism early on people urged her to teach aerobics instead, not recognizing yoga’s power.
But Payal stayed the course.
Over the last 20+ years, she’s supported tens of thousands of women through virtual and in-person yoga—helping them navigate weight loss, hormonal imbalances, pain relief, and emotional wellness.
A Heart-Centered Approach
Payal’s teaching is steeped in love, care, and deep listening.
Each class is tailored—back pain one day, stress relief the next because she understands that women’s needs shift daily.
While modern trends have moved toward flashy, dance-infused yoga, Payal remains devoted to ancient, authentic practices.
She separates classes for older and younger students but continues to feel the pull of trying to meet everyone’s expectations.
Transformation That Matters
One story in particular stays with her: a 22-year-old student battling depression and suicidal thoughts.
Through consistent meditation and breathwork with Payal, that young woman not only found hope again—she’s now a joyful mother of two.
Doctors have even asked Payal how she reversed an ovarian cyst they expected to require surgery. Her answer?
Yoga, dedication, and trust in the body’s power to heal.
Grounded in Passion, Not Profit
Payal is the first to admit, this work isn’t always financially rewarding.
But the impact? Immeasurable.
She sometimes regrets that her heartfelt teaching isn’t as lucrative as more commercial approaches, but she wouldn’t trade it.
“I teach from my heart,” she says. “And I just want women to know they have another choice before surgery.”
The Legacy She’s Building
In a world obsessed with shortcuts and spectacle, Payal is keeping ancient wisdom alive with breath, with presence, and with purpose.
At Reignelle, we honor Payal for her unwavering commitment to wellness, to women, and to teaching from the soul.
