Helping Kids Build Brave Confidence
Michelle Blais is a parent coach based in Calgary who supports moms raising capable kids who freeze under pressure.
Her work focuses on helping families build calm confidence at home so children can face challenges without shutting down or getting trapped in perfectionism.
Through practical coaching and supportive guidance, Michelle teaches mothers how to create an environment where kids feel safe taking risks, making mistakes and trying again.
For her, confidence is not about pushing children harder.
It is about helping them believe in their ability to handle hard things and allowing their true strengths and personalities to shine.
A Teacher’s Calling Beyond the Classroom
Michelle spent 18 years working as a teacher and always knew her deeper purpose was helping children become brave enough to share their light with the world.
In the classroom, she saw incredible growth when students learned the tools to build confidence and resilience.
But she also noticed something important.
When those same strategies were not supported at home, many children would slip back into old patterns of self-doubt and perfectionism the following year.
That realization stayed with her for years.
After the loss of her mother in 2023, Michelle felt a strong push to finally act on the dream she had carried for so long.
She launched her coaching business for moms and later created Bravewired, a group coaching program where mothers come together to learn, grow and support one another while building these powerful parenting strategies.
Taking the Leap Into Entrepreneurship
One of the most difficult decisions Michelle faced was leaving the stability of her full-time teaching career.
In the school board where she worked, teachers were not allowed to earn income using knowledge gained from their teaching role.
Instead of quietly starting a business on the side, Michelle chose to take the honest path and resign from her position to fully pursue her new mission.
The transition came with uncertainty, especially when her income suddenly changed.
Until now, she still works occasionally as a substitute teacher so she can continue spending time with students, something she deeply enjoys.
But stepping fully into entrepreneurship allowed her to expand the impact she had always envisioned.
Learning a New Path Forward
Right now, Michelle’s biggest challenge is learning how to be seen by the families who need her work most.
After nearly two decades in education, the world of marketing and sales is entirely new territory.
Like many new entrepreneurs, she is navigating the learning curve of building a business while staying true to her purpose.
What keeps her grounded is the same philosophy she teaches children.
Progress comes from practice, not perfection.
Each day she continues learning, connecting with families, and growing her community of moms who want to raise confident, resilient kids.
