Sacred Birth Work, Healing Sacred Selves

Building a Business from Healing

Denawa Deniece didn’t just step into the world of holistic wellness and full-spectrum doula care, she became the embodiment of it.

The Power of Representation

Her work was born from her own healing journey, learning to trust and heal her body and recognizing firsthand the profound disparities Black women face in reproductive health.

With passion and purpose, she created Double Dose Wellness and QCityDoula to offer support at every stage of the reproductive journey: from preconception and nervous system regulation, to pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and reclaiming identity after delivery.

When Denawa started six years ago, she didn’t know anyone who looked like her doing this work.

There was no clear road map, only her unwavering “why.”

Armed with determination (and a lot of YouTube tutorials), she built two websites herself and dove into the unknown.

“Yes, you can have a dream,” she shares, “but you also have to have the fire to figure it out.”

A Business Rooted in Community

Denawa’s work thrives not because of flashy ads, but because of the trust she has built within her community.

Most of her clients find her through heartfelt referrals and word-of-mouth.

“Marketing? I should be better at it,” she laughs.

“But the people who know me, know the care I give and that’s better than any ad.”

Moments That Speak for Themselves

Instead of pointing to one pivotal breakthrough, Denawa invites you to read the glowing reviews on Google testimonies of the deep, lasting impact her care has had.

“They speak volumes,” she says. Every client journey is sacred, every transformation meaningful.

Confidence Built Through Experience

Now, with six years under her belt, Denawa stands strong.

“There isn’t anything I can’t accomplish or overcome,” she says confidently.

Years of growth, learning, and resilience have sharpened her skills and deepened her impact.

Sacred Self-Care

A true believer in “walking the talk,” Denawa prioritizes her own well-being just as fiercely as she cares for her clients.

Yoga, Pilates, staying active—self-care isn’t optional; it’s foundational.

“Just like my kid’s health and happiness, my business is only as strong as I am,” she shares.

Reflecting in a Season of Change

As her only child prepares to leave for college with honors, Denawa is entering a season of gratitude and reflection.

Over the next few months, she’s intentionally taking fewer clients to savor this huge life transition.

“Everything is changing—and I’m holding onto what’s the same for as long as I can,” she says warmly.

Living the Dream, Rooted in Soul

Denawa is living her ideal life right now: crafting her own schedule, fully owning her time, and running a business that is a true reflection of her heart and soul.

“This is a soul business,” she says proudly. Every day is a testament to what’s possible when passion, purpose, and perseverance come together.
