How Listening to Her Body Led Her to Her Purpose

Healing Isn’t Linear but It’s Worth It

From soul-crushing silence to soul-led service, Amanda Kuroda’s path is one of reclaiming power, one shadow at a time.

Amanda Kuroda, a Shadow Work Coach and Reiki Practitioner based in Austin, Texas, whose journey into healing is as raw and revealing as the work she now does with others.

Amanda isn’t here to sell a dream of instant enlightenment.

She’s here to offer truth—messy, sacred, liberating truth.

The kind that only surfaces when we face what we’ve been taught to hide.

Born into a home of emotional distance and volatility, Amanda’s early years were marked by trauma that she didn’t yet have words for—only wounds.

As she grew older, those wounds formed the blueprint of her beliefs: self-doubt, fear of judgment, and a quiet but constant inner voice asking if she was “too much” or “not enough.”

For a long time, Amanda did what most of us do—she pushed forward, adapted, coped.

Until, of course, she couldn’t anymore.

That’s when she found Reiki.

Or rather, it found her.

Meeting the Shadows, Finding the Light

Two years ago, Amanda stepped into a Reiki session that would change everything.

What began as an introduction to energy work evolved into a full-bodied calling.

Today, Amanda blends Shadow Work and Reiki to guide others through the deeply personal and deeply universal—process of inner child healing.

Her mission is to hold space for those who are ready to confront the hidden parts of themselves and finally breathe life into their most authentic identity.

It’s not about becoming someone new, it’s about remembering who you were before the world told you otherwise.

One of Amanda’s earliest clients—her own Reiki mentor—connected with three distinct inner children during their sessions.

Each encounter became a doorway to more freedom, more clarity, and deeper relationships.

Amanda reflects on that with awe: “Those moments are why I do this. It’s healing for them, and it’s healing for me.”

Business Isn’t the Hardest Part, Being Seen Is

Despite being only three months into her business, Aiko & Okami, Amanda has already learned that healing and entrepreneurship are parallel journeys.

“I’ve never run a business before,” she admits. “You want to focus on helping people, but you’re also juggling websites, taxes, marketing, and still clocking in at a full-time job.”

What makes it even more difficult? Visibility.

Amanda isn’t a fan of social media.

Like many healers, she battles imposter syndrome and a fear of being judged.

“What if people think I’m annoying?” she wonders aloud. It’s a common but rarely discussed struggle—especially for those offering soul work in a world that prioritizes slick branding over sacred transformation.

Still, Amanda shows up. Some days, that just means journaling.

Other days, it’s letting herself cry or rest for three days straight. “My body knows what I need before my mind does,” she says. “I’ve learned to listen.”

Not an Entrepreneur, Just Soul-Led

Amanda doesn’t identify with the word entrepreneur.

“I’m not doing this to build an empire,” she says. “I’m just following what my soul is telling me to do.”

That authenticity is what makes her work so powerful.

She’s not promising to fix anyone. She’s walking beside them—into the dark, through the fear, and toward the truth.

And though the challenges are real—financial uncertainty, emotional fatigue, overwhelm—Amanda holds onto her vision: a simple, free, joy-filled life. One where healing isn’t rushed.

Where connection is sacred.

Where her story can help someone else finally feel seen.

Healing is Nonlinear but So Is Magic

Amanda doesn’t regret a thing.

Not even the timing.

“Sure, part of me wishes I’d started healing sooner,” she says. “But then I wouldn’t be who I am now. I wouldn’t be able to help others in the way I do. The Universe really did have a plan.”

At Reignelle, we believe stories like Amanda’s are the heartbeat of healing.

They remind us that growth isn’t linear, success isn’t always shiny, and it’s okay to meet yourself in the shadows.

That’s often where your truth has been waiting all along.
